Today's prize is Ready to Were (Shift Happens Series #1) by

Hot Damned Series is FREE right now!

Fashionably Dead (Hot Damned Series, Book 1) Amazon
Fashionably Dead (Hot Damned Series, Book 1) Barnes & Noble

I never planned on going back to Hung Island, Georgia. Ever.

I was a top notch Were agent for the secret paranormal Council and happily living in Chicago where I had everything I needed – a gym membership, season tickets to the Cubs and Dwayne – my gay, Vampyre best friend. Going back now would mean facing the reason I’d left and I’d rather chew my own paw off than deal with Hank.

Hank the Tank Wilson was the six foot three, obnoxious, egotistical, perfect-assed, best-sex-of-my-life, Werewolf who cheated on me and broke my heart. At the time, I did what any rational woman would do. I left in the middle of the night with a suitcase, big plans and enough money for a one-way bus ticket to freedom. I vowed to never return.

But here I am, trying to wrap my head around what has happened to some missing Weres without wrapping my body around Hank. I hope I don’t have to eat my words and my paw.

***This novella originally appeared in the Three Southern Beaches collection released July of 2014. This is an extended version of that story.

**The Ghost and The Graveyard is a funny, exciting, and sexy read intended for adults. Due to sexual content, language, and violence this book is recommended for ages 18+**

Grateful Knight isn't looking for love when she moves into a rent-free house on the edge of a graveyard. At twenty-two, all she wants is to recover financially so she can move back to the city where she belongs.

But sparks fly when the gorgeous cemetery caretaker, Rick, introduces himself and mentions his suspicion that her new house might be haunted. Her attraction to him seems supernatural, and despite her resolve to not get involved, she literally can't keep her hands off him.

When things in Grateful's house start moving on their own, another man enters her life, Logan, a sexy ghost with a dark secret. He says Rick isn't what he seems, and indulging her passion for him could cost her soul.

One thing's for sure, magical forces are at work in the tiny town of Red Grove, and they're converging on Grateful. Life will never be the same once she's forced to choose between the ghost and the graveyard.

This book was an interesting take on a person being introduced to the supernatural side of life. Rather than falling in love with a man and becoming a part of his world, the main character finds out that SHE is the one connected to the supernatural. There wasn't a ton of character development outside of the protagonist, but there was enough to make me want to go out and get the next two books right away.

12 Days of Kim ~ Day 10!!

Another Secret Santa prize! Yippee!
It's an E-book of Karma (Karma #1) by
People say karma's a...well, you know. Personally, I don't think I'm that bad. It's not like I wanted this job. I wasn't even in my right mind when I accepted the position.

Now, I'm surrounded by crazy coworkers like Lady Luck, who's a bit of a tramp, and Murphy's Law, who's a bumbling oaf. But the worst is Fate. He's got a problem with transfers like myself, and I have to see him constantly. It's unavoidable. We're hunting the same man—my murderer.

Shelby Nichols is an average woman who is married to the only guy she ever fell for. Her life is organized and predictable, revolving around her husband and two children. All that changes the day she stops at the grocery store for some carrots. As the cashier rings up her purchases, a gunman is busy robbing the bank inside the store. When a customer grabs the robber's mask, he is shot and everyone runs for cover. Everyone except Shelby, who finds herself face to face with the killer. The next thing she knows, she's lying on the floor with a bullet wound to her head. Luckily, the bullet only grazes her scalp, and she doesn't suspect any lasting affects until later, when she suddenly 'hears' what people are thinking. With this uncanny ability, her life takes on a whole new dimension. Her kids think she's bossy and too old to understand them, but that's nothing compared to her husband. He says he loves her, but what is it about the redhead at work that he doesn't want her to know? As if that isn't enough, the gunman knows she can identify him, and he's out to silence her forever. In her fight to stay alive, she is saved from certain death by a handsome hit-man with ties to organized crime. This pulls Shelby even deeper into danger, where knowing someone's thoughts can not only hurt her feelings, but get her killed.

This book was way better than I expected it to be. I was looking for something on the lighter side and since it was free on Amazon I gave it a try.

It started off quickly and never slowed down. I couldn't put it down. Finished it in a day. If you like the Stephanie Plum series or the Charley Davidson series you'll like this.

  Hellhound by Rue Volley

**This version contains all four books in the Hellhound series.**
BOOK ONE: Hellhound
BOOK TWO: Dogs of War
BOOK THREE: Prince of Fire
BOOK FOUR: The Hellhound Handbook (which contains two origin stories)

First in a brand new series about a Chicago graduate student's introduction into a society of vampires.

Sure, the life of a graduate student wasn't exactly glamorous, but it was Merit's. She was doing fine until a rogue vampire attacked her. But he only got a sip before he was scared away by another bloodsucker and this one decided the best way to save her life was to make her the walking undead.

Turns out her savior was the master vampire of Cadogan House. Now she's traded sweating over her thesis for learning to fit in at a Hyde Park mansion full of vamps loyal to Ethan Lord o' the Manor Sullivan. Of course, as a tall, green-eyed, four-hundred- year-old vampire, he has centuries' worth of charm, but unfortunately he expects her gratitude and servitude. But an inconvenient sunlight allergy and Ethan's attitude are the least of her concerns. Someone's still out to get her. Her initiation into Chicago's nightlife may be the first skirmish in a war and there will be blood.

This is a great beginning to a great series! Merit is a strong, independent, and sassy woman. When she meets Ethan for the first time it sets the stage for their interactions for the entire series. Merit doesn't put up with his crap and his "I'm the boss" attitude. She didn't ask to be changed into a vampire after all...let's just say she does things her own way and it both frustrates and intrigues the master vampire.

If you haven't started this series yet, now is the perfect time :)

To be entered in the giveaway simply return to my Facebook page and leave a comment on your favorite moment from a book you've read this year, tag and share!

Review on Fallen Into Darkness by Valerie Twombly

Eli, the Archangel bounty hunter, has one job: to retrieve fallen angels and bring them to the Tribunal for judgement.  That seems to be a problem for him, considering his charges haven't been coming back alive!  Eli had witnessed his once friends committing awful acts on humans, but instead of dealing with the situation in a humane way, Eli just kills the angels and leaves the poor humans to suffer.  The only way the Tribunal saw fit to punish Eli was to condemn him to Earth to find his humanity.  Before falling, Tegan, Eli's commander, must remove Eli's wings, literally.....OUCH!

When Eli falls, he lands in the middle of nowhere Alaska!  YA!  With no shirt on!!  And it's snowing!!  Super Sexy is just in time to save the day!!  Hark!  I hear a cry for help!  As SS glides across the snow like the wonderman he is towards danger, he makes out a woman being attacked by a dog-like creature, great!  So after rescuing the damsel in distress, Eli feels a strong need to stay with the young woman and nurse her wounds, or to lick, nurse, lick, what's the difference?!

This story had a ridiculously great premise and has me wishing it could be a full novel because I want more!  The icing on the cake was the fact that Ashley isn't your ordinary human and, in fact, turns out to be just what Eli needs!  The chemistry between them was more destiny making sure shit got done right than anything else.  It was pretty cool.  The snow storm that prevented Eli from just leaving once Ashley woke up was the perfect scenario to keep them locked up in close quarters, to get to "know" each other, if you know what I mean, wink wink!

My favorite part of the book had to be the shower scene!  I'm on the fence as to whether it's the funniest scene, or sexiest scene!  I mean, the whole idea is just out there, but it is a fictional book, so why the hell not, right?!  When Ashley wakes up after the attack, Eli explains all her injuries to her.  Despite what Eli has told her about not being able to stand on her own because of the deep wound on her leg, she insists on taking a shower to wash the dried blood off her entire body.  You know what's coming next, right?  Ashley and Eli, in the shower with their underwear on!  Now, Ashley is supposed to be mortified, ok.....So during the shower, she asks him if he would mind washing her back, uh huh....SURE Eli replies, lol.  In order to do that, Ashley has to brace herself, so she puts palms on the shower wall, back facing Eli, and bent forward to put all her weight on her good leg, so her ass is up pointing at him!  First thought that came to mind, Oh my god, he's going to just do her right now!  No one has that kind of restraint, just boink her!!  Then..........hysterical laughter!

There is a point to Eli being dropped in Ashley's neck of the woods.  Ashley has her own issue of being able to see how a person will die when she looks in their eyes!  But not when she looked in Eli's eyes.  So as we get to the nitty gritty, the book ends!  On a cliffhanger!!  A note from the author, more to come in 2015!  No fucking fair!!  I want to know what those fucking bitches, the "Seven," have to say for themselves!!  So there ya go.......I really liked the book, it was cool, funny, sexy, dramatic and suspenseful!  Hurry please and release the next chapter before I go insane, thank you :)

Valerie Twombly

As a child, Valerie would often get into trouble for peeking at her mother’s favorite TV show, Dark Shadows. She can still hear her mother saying “It will give you nightmares.” She was right of course, but that did not stop Valerie from watching. As an adult, her love of the fanged creatures never waned. She would watch any vampire movie she could find.

Being a true romantic, Valerie was thrilled when she discovered the genre of paranormal romance. Her first read was one of Lara Adrian’s, Midnight Breed Series and from there she was hooked.

Today, Valerie has decided to take her darker, sensual side and put it to paper. When she is not busy creating a world full of steamy, hot men and strong, seductive women, she juggles her time between a full-time job, hubby and her two German shepherd dogs, in Northern IL.

12 Days of Kim ~ Day 7!!!

Day 7!!!

Today's offering to the people is an E-book Boxed Set, ooooh.....
The NightLife Series Books 1-4 by Travis Luedke

Rachel Winestock is a psychic, stuck between a rock and a hard place!  As a psychic, that don't pay squat!  Her grandmother is in desperate need of a new nursing home, and Rachel is trying her best to take care of granny.

When Rachel is offered a big job, she jumps on it!  But the down side is she has to work with Matt, the guy who makes a living proving what frauds psychic's really are.

My favorite part of the story was when Rachel was taken back in time through her psychic abilities, and makes contact with her grandmother from when she was a teenager.  It was kind of like from the movie Scrooged, when Xavier Cross is taken back in time by the Ghost of Christmas Past, and he see's his mother, Niagara Falls.  That experience Rachel had just was a total game changer, and the book was just awesome!

Ghouls Just Haunt To Have Fun, (A Ghost Hunter Mystery #3)

Book review on Ghouls Just Haunt To Have Fun, (A Ghost Hunter Mystery #3) by +Victoria Laurie

Rated it

Blurb:  When ghost hunter and medium M.J. Holliday appears on a television show called Haunted Possessions, she encounters an evil knife that releases a demon. Now all hell has broken loose in the haunted hotel where M.J. is staying, and it's up to her to give the uninvited guest an early checkout.

Review:  What kind of blurb is that??!!  It just doesn't say much does it.....well let me tell you!  M.J. is roped into taking a job in San Francisco where she will be doing readings on items that people think are haunted or possessed.  The kicker is she will be filmed with an audience and working with three other psychics.  The one thing I didn't mention is how Gilley, M.J.'s best friend, signed her up for it without asking her first!!  After a lot of yelling and arm twisting, M.J. finally comes to terms with having to do this job, even though she has never heard of any of these "psychics" that the show has procured.

So, we are off to a great start, right?  LOL!  Poor M.J.  Man, was she pissed at Gilley, and so was I!!  Gosh, Gilley even talked to Steven, aka Dr. Delicious, about it first, wth?  To dig the hole even deeper, the show's producer, Gopher, has arranged for the filming to take place at one of the most haunted hotels in America, The Duke, as well as being their accomodations, bahahaha.........ooooh, Gilley is dead meat!

When the trio arrives at the Duke, M.J. is already slapped in the face with her first ghost bust/crossover job.  The woman can't even check in without being bombarded!  This is how she is introduced to Detective Ayden MacDonald.  He turns out to be very open minded about M.J. abilities, and a crucial asset in the end.  After Gilley and Steven get them all checked in, M.J. is off to a Meet 'n Greet with the show's producer and other psychics that will be on the show.  The intros to the others were not good, as she meets Angelica DeMarche, Bernard Higgins and Heath Whitefeather.  They are discussing the woman M.J. encountered when arriving at the hotel and how she came to her untimely death.  M.J. knew right off the bat that Angelica and Bernard were phonies.  Heath seemed to be the only true psychic amongst them, along with M.J., and she was hoping to not get paired with the other two during filming.

The story takes on a whole new life when a dagger appears on the table during filming with no one to claim it.  The whole atmosphere turns sour, and the true ghost busting begins!  Let me just say how utterly upset I was with Gilley!  He basically forced M.J.'s hand to take this job, and she was really against it!  Then for him to NOT get it when she tried to explain to him how bad this could end up for her and their business!  I was just screaming in my head, DENSE MUCH?  Why aren't you understanding her!!  This feeling of angst between them went on for most of the book, pretty much every time something horrible happened.  Gilley was totally at fault, and he did not deserve any slack about it!  I truly hope that he learned his lesson and doesn't pull this shit again in future books, or he will permanently stay on my shit list!  Then, there is poor Steven.  He only wants to help the business, but he's also torn with wanting M.J. to be safe, so he does see both sides, and right when things get dangerous, he has to go back to Boston for a lecture he is scheduled for.  This little trip was only supposed to be over a weekend and turned into a week-long nightmare.

Heath and M.J. team up with Gil and Gopher to ghost bust the whole damn hotel and to face the most dangerous entity any of them has ever encountered!  The in-depth story behind it all was such jaw-dropping genius that  I never saw things coming, and it had me on edge until the end!  M.J. always has something new and scary she discovers, and that it is what keeps me going with this series.  Not once in the four books that I've read so far have I felt, oh, we been there, done that!  This book opens up a whole new chapter for M.J., and I can't wait to get started with her on the next one :)

No Prince Charming, (Secrets of Stone Book 1) by +Angel Payne and +Victoria Blue

No Prince Charming is a contemporary romance that just blew my socks off!  I fell so in love with all the right characters and hated the deserving ones!!

The story is about Claire Montgomery.  Claire works at a major PR Firm that just so happens to be owned by her soon-to-be-step-mother, Andrea Asher.  Andrea and her daughter, Margaux, are two peas in a pod with their attitude toward Claire.  Claire is like the step child from Cinderella, and she unfortunately has to play nice because Margaux has dirt on her that will destroy her career and her relationship with her father.

The PR firm Asher and Associates is hired for a job in Chicago by a major global corporation, Stone Industries.  The Stone family has old money, greedy friends and rock star status for the three Stone boys Killian, Trey and Lance.  With their father up in years, the business is to be taken over by these three stooges.  Trey has started trouble for the family again, so Andrea and her team need to act with haste.

Once they arrive, Margaux has already planned her attack to score with Killian, and no one really cares until Killian shows interest in Claire and shrugs Margaux's advances off.  So what I'm trying to say about my favorite moment is, with this book there are several favorite moments, all having to do with Margaux.  Margaux is hateful, and I just didn't feel sorry for her at all when her advances were thwarted by Killian on several occasions.  She totally deserved the rejection for the slut she was and the humiliation from her peers for acting like a nasty whore!  I truly felt justice was served, for the most part, with Margaux.

For those of you who haven't read this book (or book two) it gets even better after this book, if that is possible, right!  I have loved this series thus far and can't wait for another one please :)  So please share your favorite book scene with me on my Facebook page to be entered in this giveaway!

Thunder Storm had me gaga over Miles the moment he entered the book!  I had never read books one or two before, but that's ok!  Cause the series is not a continual story of one person, so it will stand on it's own two legs!!

In Thunder Storm the story is about Jeni Jenkins, an Advertising Executive in New York.  After losing her mother suddenly, she alone is responsible now for her grandmother, Elizabeth, who has Alzheimer's.  Being a young workaholic, she has little time to care for her grandmother, so after talking to her best friend, Jordan, in Colorado, they come to the terrific idea to move Elizabeth in with Jordan at her B&B in the mountains of Colorado.  Perfect right?  When Jeni arrives in Colorado, immediate sparks fly between her and a local construction dude named Milo.

Milo is this super sweet, hunky, manly man that is really into Jeni but makes it very clear to her he is unavailable and will not tell her why.  Jeni continues to push the envelope with Milo and finally gets him to the breaking point and they fall into bed, bow chick a wow wow!!  The most memorable part of the entire book was when Jeni FINALLY finds out the super secret of what's behind door #1 with Milo!  Good Lord!  I was like, WHAT??!!

Yeah, this book was a gold mine, and it has much more to the story that just draws you in, totally loved it!  Join me on Facebook, and share your favorite book moment of 2014 to enter to win Flawed and Damaged by Emily Krat!

Today's featured OMG moment from 2014 has to be this book, I mean Valerie is my featured Author today, and this book was fangtastic!!

This story was about Makayla, a divorced author down and out with life, writing, and love.  When her best friend Nikki talks her into taking a much needed vacation, IN SPAIN, Makayla has no idea how much this trip will change her life!

When Makayla gets to Spain, and is settled in her friend Nikki's friends place, Armand comes to pay her a visit to welcome her to the small quaint town.  Makayla is in for such a ride when she gets involved with Armand, WEE HEE!!

My OMG moment in the book is when Makayla is speaking to Armand's father, and he tells her the family history.  The story put so many puzzle pieces together for Makayla that didn't make sense to her before, but still was such a huge shocker!

This story, and Armand was very super hot!!  This would make a great Christmas gift for yourself, and your bestie!!  You will thank me for it later ;)  If you haven't read this book yet, please check out my review in the Septembers Blog Archive.  To enter for today's prize, please follow my Facebook link and enter your favorite book moments on Day 4's post.  Good Luck!!
