Just when I thought the Dark Warrior Alliance series couldn’t get any better, Trim and Julka hit it out of the park with Deviant Warrior, book 3. I was captivated from page 1.  Kyran has some less than conventional tastes to say the least, but, he is hot, hot, hot.  Kyran is so hot that you may just change your mind about a few things along the way.

That being said, Kyran loves Mackendra and the more she resists him the stronger the feelings he has for her becomes. Mackendra being a leader of vigilante group that kills what they believe are vampires, is having a hard time trusting Kyran and the feelings she is developing for him. Both of them have pasts riddled with violence and trauma, each needing to overcome their “demons” and move on.

Mackendra also has a lot on her mind trying to figure out how she is going to save a bunch of females that have been kidnapped and are being held in the bowels of the city. One of the females Shae, is being treated especially vile.  The demons have a plan for her to help lose Lucifer from hell.

Kyran saves Mac for a burning house they are teleported to another world…full of dragons!!! They not only have to deal with dragons but are attacked by red caps, little vicious fairies that are out for blood.  This leads to another mystery that gets opened up.  Getting help from an unexpected friend/foe proves to be dangerous.

Angus, the majordomo, comes clean with the warriors about what he’s been hiding all these long years, his troubled past and his connection to a royal throne.  As the warriors try to digest this news, they are also trying to figure out how to get Kyran and Mackendra back. What will happen next??

Trim and Julka are quickly becoming the next Lara Adrian and JR Ward. I can say enough good things about this series.  I am waiting with bated breath to read book 4.  I love the characters and the stories within stories.  There is a lot more to this series than meets the eye. I have quickly become a fan and am so happy I have been introduced to these wonderful authors.  I was given this book for my honest review and there you have it.  Happy reading!!

 Addison Fitzpatrick is a pusher, she has super human abilities of speed and telekinesis, and she's a mess. Caught in the middle of a drug addiction, and owing her supplier a ton of money, she is rescued by the most unlikely person or should I say thing. Her unique strengths is the only thing that can save or her kill her.

The world that Addison lives in has for sure a pretty interesting one. The public is aware of people they call “pushers”, each one possessing different abilities. They also know about the vampires that live amongst them. The vampires in this world though don't hide from the sun, nor do they melt from holy water, or even stepping on sacred ground. When Addison finds herself bound to one, Cannon Blackwood one of the most powerful vampires around, she learns just how dangerous they really can be. The bond she has with Cannon allows him to pull her to his beck and call whenever he so desires. She owes him her life, in return she must stop the drug use and come whenever he calls her with no questions asked. I found this arrangement fare at first, but then when he tries to seduce her, and even stake claim to her, all romantic gestures were lost on me. Cannon is a piece of shit that has the power to act like a spoiled brat and take whatever he decides he wants. Seven years later she is called by Cannon to fulfill one of her first obligations to him.

Addison is now introduced to Cannon's brother Lachlan. The both of them are to work together on a job Cannon needs done, but their first impressions of each other are not good. They definitely have a rocky start, and I find it interesting where the story line goes with them. Addison came from a very abusive past, and the drug addiction wasn't surprising because of that. The writing and emotion that went into Addison's history felt very personal, real which made Addison's character more believable and endearing. I really appreciated the action scenes that took place, and the plot. The entire book had me captivated, and worrying for what would become of Addison. She's such an unlikely heroine but at the same time so very fitting to become one. I empathize with Addison and want to see her win. I'm on pins and needles for the next book in this awesome new series!

Narrator Review

Rebecca Mason-Wygal narrates for Emily Cyr. This is my first experience listening the Rebecca, and I thought she was very lovely. The recording quality was nice, and the music at the end and beginning of each chapter was a great touch! Rebecca had that tone of voice that was just right for Addison's age, and the little gravel in the back of her throat that I would imagine someone like Addison would have. Being a junkie and emotional wreck all the time takes a toll on ones soul and body, so like I said the voice was perfect. I think she did a great job, and I look forward to hearing more from her in future books.

About Emily Cyr

Emily Cyr is a stay-at-home mom turned writer. She holds a degree in middle grades education with certification in English and social science. She has always had a love of all things paranormal and fantasy, but it wasn’t until Emily’s husband said the words, “Why not?” that she considered putting her thoughts and ideas into the book, The Lightning Prophecy. This trilogy was just the start for Emily. It seemed to open a creative door that had been locked.

Emily has always been an avid reader. Through reading came her love of writing. The more she read, the more she knew she wanted to create her own world. Many of her first works were fan fiction.

 Rusty never dreamed he'd be tempted to break from the humdrum day life of working pastures and nighttime rush of riding bulls. Never again.

Office manager of the Coalside Ranch, Darlene had been burned by men—the danger addicts, the adrenaline junkies; so much so that she barely got over the last one. It was stupid to fall in love with men who had a passion for danger. So why couldn’t she stop herself from daydreaming about the cowboy who lingered in her office? 

This short erotic western romance was to the point, but had a deeper meaning, (no pun intended) behind the characters of Rusty Charleston and Darlene Fisher. Will Rusty and Darlene fall in love, and live happily ever after? Or will they just bang their brains out into unconsciousness? It's totally worth finding out!

We are on some sort of ranch, somewhere in the U.S. and the where's don't matter here, but the workers do. Rusty is a ranch hand, doing whatever manual labor is needed, and Darlene works on the business side of the ranch in the make shift of an office/trailer. The two little lust bunnies have been having some inappropriate fantasies at the work place about each other, but never acted upon their urges. Both of them have a painful past with love.  Neither are looking for anything at all.  And then she gets an eye full of his bare naked chest one day and he can't draw his attention away from here short shorts, and bulging cleavage. It's easy to empathize with, and care for Rusty and Darlene as a reader. Lost loves and grieving are two things everyone can relate to, and the author does a great job connecting us in such a way. I felt very hopeful for the two to get together, whether it be to fall in love, or to just connect on a primal lustful level, doesn't matter it's all good. I enjoyed the writing style of this author, so I look forward to reading future books.

In my christian based belief house we celebrate Christmas on December 25^th . Neither one of us, (my husband and I) had any real family traditions from our parents to pass on when we had kids, so we made our own as the years rolled along. One of our favorite traditions to do each Christmas is to count down the days to Christmas with our favorite Christmas movies! Each year the list has changed, (they had to be age appropriate) and as the children get older, the movie selection has gotten more fun. Here is the beginnings of our list for this year so far:

Now the Christmas Story movie is ALWAYS watched on Christmas Eve, ALWAYS! We LOVE that movie! We even took a trip to Cleveland to see the house! LOVE IT! I would love to hear your family traditions, so please feel free to share!

Audiobook Review On Rhythm And Bluegrass, (Bluegrass #2)

Bonnie Turkle, multimedia historian for the Kentucky Commission of Tourism, is dispatched to Mud Creek, a tiny eastern Kentucky town, with few prospects but many oddballs, to rescue important artifacts from McBride’s Music Hall. Now fallen beyond disrepair, McBride’s was once a jewel of the early American music scene, an intersection of the country-western and rhythm and blues circuits. The former owner’s grandson, Will McBride, who also happens to be Mud Creek’s esteemed mayor, would like nothing more than to see the place bull-dozed in favor of a factory that will provide much-needed jobs to his citizens. But Bonnie finds evidence of a legendary musical event at the music hall and her plans to turn it into a museum put Mud Creek’s economic future at risk – not to mention the growing flirtation between the two of them. If Will and Bonnie can’t find common ground, the town’s past and future will be lost.

Bonnie Turkle thought she had the perfect life a great job that kept her on the road visiting all the great history that her state of Kentucky had to offer. With no real “roots” to keep her grounded, this was the ideal job for her, until she finds herself knee deep in a rescue mission, for both an old music hall and a broken hearted man. What is a geeky historian to do?

Bonnie works at the Kentucky Commission of Tourism under our beloved Sadie, (from previous book My Bluegrass Baby) as the multimedia historian. She's pretty reserved, until it comes to history. She loves getting her hands dirty and restoring items to their original glory. But her life is missing something... When she butts heads with the towns Mayor over his family's property, while also falling in love with him, the fun begins! These two knuckle heads are a good time all by themselves. They had me laughing, frustrated, and cheering for them throughout the entire book. I didn't know if I wanted them to rip each other limb from limb or have crazy monkey sex!

The story was light hearted, with a dash of serious undertone, and a ton of foreplay! What a great combination for a cozy romance? Romantic comedy? This book could fall under either mind set. Either way it's great! I loved the extension from the original story. Oh, I hope the next book is about her roommate, cause man does her man suck! She needs to hook up with that geeky dude, lol!

Narrator Review

Amanda Ronconi continues the journey with us at the Kentucky Commission of Tourism.  She does such a wonderful job with the accents.  I don't know what Kentuckians sound like, but I imagine they sound similar to Amanda.  Wonderful sound quality, and excellent comedic timing!  You will not regret listening to Amanda, like ever!
