AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: CRIMSON FROST

Patrol Log:  10302012018

Rated it

I should have known that my first official date with Logan Quinn was destined to end in disaster. If we’d gotten into a swordfight, or been ambushed by Reapers, I’d have been more prepared. But getting arrested mid-sip at the local coffee hangout? I didn’t see that one coming...

Gwen Frost is in a heap of trouble from the Protectorate, now that she has had a hand in releasing Loki. Unbeknownst to her, Gwen has been arrested for crimes against Mythos. Now that another chaos war is imminent, Gwen must find a way to find out who is behind her arrest and what their plans are. How is Gwen suppose to do all this while under house arrest? Wait and see...

Gwen Frost is the newest member of Mythos Academy, descending from a Gypsy Clan that has been chosen by the Goddess Nike to be her champion. Yeah, Yeah, we all know this. But do we? What proof can Gwen provide to back up her story? The new predicament Gwen has gotten herself in to enables the story to add new and exciting characters to Mythos! The Protectorate, a group of individuals chosen to serve and protect their people , serving as judge, jury and executioner as well. Logan Quinn's (Gwen's new Spartan bf) father, Linus, is head of the group, along with his wife and Logan's step-mother Agrona, (please excuse misspellings, I listened to the audiobook). The life long conflict between Logan and Linus heat up by Gwen's arrest, and Logan never backs down from standing by her side, (awe, what a guy!). Alexa (again, could be wrong on spelling) is also a newcomer to the story line. He is strapped with the duty of escorting Gwen everywhere she goes, not for her protection, but to make sure she doesn't flee and kill again. With all the students, for the exception of her good friends, Kenzi, Oliver, Daphne, Carson, and boyfriend Logan, against her, Gwen must keep it together!

Now all of what I have revealed so far should not be news to you IF you have been reading the series. The current story line opens up another door, peels another layer of the already fantastic tale of these mythological beings. I loved the new additions to this story. How the story creates this amazing connection between existing and new characters is flawless. Very believable, and I was sucked right in! Linus' outward hatred for Gwen, Alexa's disregard for Gwen's safety, along with Grandma Frosts prediction of Gwen's future was so heart breaking. Who ever thought that fighting against an evil God like Loki and his reaper minions would be this hard?! And as the story escalates, the plot twist stabs you right where it hurts! I never saw it coming until it was too late. I'm not sure the why's on my time frame from listening to the last book since I loved it so much, but damn, what the hell was I thinking! Mythos Academy is one of the best YA Urban Fantasy books out there right now. You are a fool to not one click this bad girl right now! SEE LINK BELOW!

Narrator Review

Tara Sands is the chosen one. I was very impressed with Tara's accents! Her tone for Gwen is spot on what I think she would sound like, and the voices she has created for each character is unique, and very identifiable for those people. Tara's voice comes over very well, and tells the story like a pro. Great job Tara, I have given you 5 Fangs!
